Appleton man charged with assault and burglary

Appleton police arrested a 25-year-old Appleton man this week on charges that he broke into an acquaintance's apartment before attacking her and stealing her purse.

Police responded to a call from an apartment complex at 40 Bluemount Court Thursday morning around 10:30 AM.

The were able to track the man due to fresh snow that had just fallen and the footprints he left in it when he fled the scene. He was found hiding in a nearby apartment complex and apprehended.

The woman who he attacked suffered minor injuries and told police that she was acquainted with the man. He was charged with strong armed robbery, burglary, battery, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, damage to property and an outstanding warrant.

Two charged in fight-turned-theft

According to authorities, a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy will both face robbery charges after police say they stole a wallet from an unnamed man in a Thursday fight.

The 17-year-old held the man in a headlock while the 23-year-old reached into the man's pocket and took the man's wallet. Several others were present during the fight, which took place in a Richmond Street apartment where the men had gathered to drink and smoke marijuana.

Both suspects were charged with a felony count last week in Outagamie County Court.

Appleton teenager receives 1.5 year sentence for Grand Chute robbery

An Appleton teenager was sentenced to one and half years in prison Monday. According to court reports, the teenager committed a robbery in Grand Chute.

The teenager apparently stole $100 from a woman and injured her in the process. The incident was the teenager's second robbery in about seven months. After serving his sentence, the boy will be on extended supervision for three years.

Appleton teenager arrested for alleged burglary

A 15-year-old boy was arrested for an alleged burglary Sunday. According to police reports, the burglary occurred at a Fox Cities building. 

The boy allegedly stole cash, a laptop computer, and DVD player. Police arrested the boy after tracing shoe tracks in the building to the bottom of the boy's shoes.
