An intoxicated Appleton man had been transported to Appleton Medical Center by ambulance for treatment for his cut finger when he allegedly punched the nurse who was treating him in the face.

The nurse was treated for a cut and for loose teeth but did not need to be admitted to the hospital. Police say that the attack occurred while the nurse was treating the man's finger and was completely unexpected.

The 47-year-old man was sent to Outagamie Country Jail, held on charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and felony substantial battery.
