Officers in New York City and Manhattan recently arrested twenty-six people for trading images of sexually assaulted children over the Internet. The arrests came after a five-month investigation that used special technology to monitor the Internet activity of these individuals.

According to reports, the people involved in the image trading traded pictures of children ranging in age from one-year-old to teenagers, and the pictures showed the children being raped and sexually assaulted by adults. The people arrested for the crime ranged in age from 18 to 63 and many were employed by companies that worked closely with children, such as a children's shoe store.

If the twenty-six people are convicted of using the Internet for child pornography, they will face several years in prison and will be forced to file as sex offenders.

If you or someone you love has been charged with viewing child pornography over the Internet, please contact the Appleton Internet sex crimes lawyers of Kohler, Hart, & Priebe, LLP, at 414-271-9595.
