Appleton man charged with assault and burglary

Appleton police arrested a 25-year-old Appleton man this week on charges that he broke into an acquaintance's apartment before attacking her and stealing her purse.

Police responded to a call from an apartment complex at 40 Bluemount Court Thursday morning around 10:30 AM.

The were able to track the man due to fresh snow that had just fallen and the footprints he left in it when he fled the scene. He was found hiding in a nearby apartment complex and apprehended.

The woman who he attacked suffered minor injuries and told police that she was acquainted with the man. He was charged with strong armed robbery, burglary, battery, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, damage to property and an outstanding warrant.
