Charges Against Football Coach Dropped

by Administrator 5. May 2008 05:05
A high school football coach who was facing charges of sexual misconduct has recently had the charges dropped after authorities said that the story of the 14-year-old student who initially accused him was incredibly hard to believe. The credibility of the story does not seem to match up with evidence and the prosecution was ultimately unable to prove the case against the teacher beyond a reasonable doubt. The 14-year-old was the only witness to the supposed event, leaving no one else to confirm the story. The teacher, David Kelley, has been suspended without pay and has had to face a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Not only has the event damaged his reputation in the community, but it has also negatively affected his career. With the charges dropped, the school has decided to personally investigate the allegations and make their own ruling on the teacher's future employment status at the high school.
