Convicted Sex Offender Stands Trial for New Crimes

The Appleton Post Crescent reports that, "Prosecutors will ask a judge to allow evidence from a 1992 sexual assault at the trial for a registered sex offender who's now accused of inappropriately touching a 6-year-old."

45-year-old Jeffery Walker stands accused of eight counts of sexual assault. Four of these counts are for "first degree sexual assault as a persistent repeater," writes the Crescent.

This evidence, if allowed, can prove a pattern in how Walker lures his victims. According to prosecutors, he lures them into a private place that is right next to a public place. In one of the most recent events, he lured a young girl from a swing set near a motel where they both happened to reside. The girl reported that Walker touched her inappropriately on four to five occasions in one day. He then told her not to tell anyone.

Walker's trial date is set for August 17.
