Alleged eyeglasses thief faces criminal charges

A 38-year-old man from Illinois faces criminal charges of stealing more than $45,000 worth of eyeglasses from Milwaukee stores. After being arrested, Jerry Lowery told investigators that he "really likes to be around glasses" and he typically wore the eyeglasses in front of a mirror before discarding them.

Lowery is charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of fleeing an officer. If convicted, Lowery could face more than 120 years in prison and a $310,000 fine.

Lewis allegedly went into three eyeglasses shops between April and July, and told the employees and customers he had a gun. At these stores, he allegedly did not demand any cash but took more than 500 pairs of glasses, including high-end Prada and Gucci brands.
