The former Sturgeon Bay math teacher accused of having sexual contact with a 17-year-old student was found not guilty this Friday by a Door County jury.
The nine women and three men who made up the panel deliberated for about three and a half hours following three days of testimony.
The teacher was suspended Feb. 2 from his job as a high school math teacher after an internal school investigation into an abnormal number of text messages between him and the 17-year-old girl. Police arrested him on Feb. 16.
