Mistrial Two for Wisconsin Women Charged with Daughter’s Murder

A Wisconsin women on trial for the killing of her 3-year-old daughter nearly 40 years ago has resulted in a mistrial for the second time.  The Superior Court Panel of Orange County announced Monday that it was deadlocked.  The votes were 11-1 in favor of acquitting Donna Prentice of second-degree murder. The woman is accused of killing her daughter, who disappeared in Hungtington Beach in 1969, before moving to Illinois with her boyfriend. A private investigator was hired by the young girl's aunt, who brought the case to prosecutors.  The defendant and her boyfriend were charged in 2004.  The boyfriend died in custody in 2005. The jury in Prentice's first trial was deadlocked at 10-2 in favor of a murder conviction.If you are facing murder charges you need an attorney who will defend your rights.  Contact the Appleton criminal defense lawyers of Kohler, Hart, & Priebe, LLP at 888.565.7597 today.
