A U.S. District Court jury found a rural Wisconsin man guilty of killing his sick 11-year-old daughter. A year ago, Dale Neumann and his wife refused medical treatment for their daughter and insisted that faith healing could cure her illness.
The 11-year-old girl, however, died of complications related to undiagnosed diabetes. Medical experts for the prosecution said the girl would have likely survived if she had received medical treatment. The family's attorney argued that Neumann believed the faith healing was working and that no crime was committed.
Neumann and his wife, who was convicted earlier this year, face sentencing in October of up to 25 years in prison for second-degree reckless homicide.
