The difference between civil and criminal trespassing

by Administrator 9. November 2009 06:21

Many people are unable to differentiate between civil trespassing and criminal trespassing. Civil trespassing occurs whena person violates the personal property rights of another individual. In such cases, the trespassor may be sued by the other individual for a certain amount if any damage is done to the property.

Criminal trespassing, on the other hand, is punishable by federal lawy and may include a punishment of imprisonment. The punishment may be increased if while trespassing the person injures another person or causes damage to the property.

If you or anyone you know has been charged with criminal trespassing, contact the Appleton criminal lawyers of Kohler, Hart, & Priebe at 414-271-9595.
