A 30-year-old man from Wausau was recently sentenced to 78 months in prison after he was convicted of possessing crack cocaine. The man had plead guilty to the charge in April.
In October 2010, police officers entered the man's apartment that he shared with his girlfriend because she had been missing for several days. While searching the apartment, officers found 28 grams of crack cocaine, baggies, and a scale inside of a safe. Officers charged the man with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Because the man had previous drug and robbery convictions, a Chief U.S. District judge decided to give him a substantial sentence of 78 months in prison.
