Michael F. Hart is an experienced trial lawyer concentrating in the areas of criminal law, civil litigation, and personal injury matters. Mr. Hart has successfully tried to verdict numerous cases and has the distinct ability to effectively communicate his case, convincing jurors to act in a way that is of most benefit to his client. He has also secured numerous acquittals for clients in serious felony cases, including matters related to homicide, sexual assault, and drug conspiracy. In a significant and well-publicized case, Mr. Hart represented a City of appleton police officer in the Frank Jude case and secured an acquittal for his client.

Court TV has identified Mr. Hart as one of Wisconsin's most prominent criminal defense attorneys and is recognized as one of Wisconsin's Super Lawyers.

Mr. Hart has also represented members of the National Basketball Association and Leagues executives and coaches.

Beyond casework, Mr. Hart maintains a strong legal presence locally and nationally. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the appleton Bar Association, the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Wisconsin and Michigan.

Mr. Hart earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985 and his law degree from the Michigan State University College of Law in 1988. A native of Michigan, he practiced in the Detroit area prior to joining Kohler & Hart.

Attorney Hart is licensed to practice before Wisconsin State and Federal District Courts, as well as Michigan State and Federal District Courts.
